Achievement

At the Burbank Rehabilitation Center,  it’s what you can do that’s important. This wellness orientation keeps us all focused on helping you achieve your personal best, based on goals that you and your family set.

You can expect to get dressed and go to "work" every day you’re here -- each patient takes part in three hours or more of therapy daily. Whatever your level of physical strength and endurance, your team will work with you, helping you adapt to your individual situation.

We understand, too, that it helps to talk with people who are going through the same things you are. To provide additional encouragement and motivation to achieve your goals, the Center offers a variety of support groups, including one for people who have had a stroke, as well as one-to-one peer support. We even have periodic "alumni" get-togethers including an annual reunion.

Our commitment to achievement also extends to our staff. Regular and ongoing professional training ensures that staff remain current on -- and can provide you with -- the latest innovations in therapies, pain management and other aspects of rehabilitation.

What’s more, helping you achieve your goals doesn’t stop when you’re discharged. Your case manager works closely with you and your family to ensure a successful transition to home and community. If additional rehabilitation is needed to continue developing the skills you need to live independently or return to work -- physical therapy at home, for example -- your case manager will make those arrangements.

When it come to achieving results, we believe the greatest measure of success is the outcomes of our patients. The Burbank Rehabilitation Center meets or exceeds national outcomes standards (see graph). More important, each patient is helped to achieve the fullest recovery possible.
